EXHIBITOR2014 – Conferencing American Style

April 30, 2014 By Editor

Christian_2bChristian Bauer, Head of Customer Relations & Consulting, MC2 Europe GmbH MC2 has been a regular and enthusiastic participant at the Exhibitor Show in Las Vegas for many years. But this year I also had an opportunity for some personal thematic and cultural exchanges with my colleagues during some of the many seminars being held during the show. The seminar programme on event, exhibition and 3D communication was vast. I was particularly fascinated by the presentation on professional emotionalization of concepts and live presentations, i.e. how to sell a good product emotionally. It’s here that the cultural differences between the USA and Europe are most obvious, and I’ve brought a lot of that American expressiveness back home with me to Düsseldorf. The exhibition itself was a clearly defined balance between supply and demand, and in many respects was my personal communications highlight. What inspired me most was the frank approach to potential customers. It was normal to ask them about the size of their business and about budgets, and the answers were equally relaxed. We don’t do this in Germany. Americans just get to the point so much faster. Many wonderful impressions, a fantastic team and perfect weather – I’m already looking forward to my next visit! Kind regards from Düsseldorf!
